These unsure times are getting many of us down as the severity and timing of any lockdowns keep changing. Many towns in Australia, particularly down south, are still unsure as to where this pandemic is heading. Out here in country Queensland we have enjoyed very little restrictions and life has mainly gone on unchallenged.
Our club is still having its committee meetings and our workshop is still open for members and guests to cut and polish whatever gem, mineral or crystal they wish. This must all take place with the usual social distancing and other hygienic measures in place so the numbers in the workshop are slightly limited at any one time.
We are now starting to organize our 2021 Gem Show which will be held on the 10th and 11th of April at the Kingaroy Showgrounds. We are currently assuming that the rules and regulations relevant to holding such a show will be favourable at that time. All being well we can soon start requesting participants to indicate their attendance and then promote the occasion more widely.
If you are in anyway interested in being a part of a well run, interesting, informative and rewarding gem show, please contact our secretary.
